What is a derived term?

To derive means to create or compound something from something else. A derived term in dictionary can be described as a word or expression that is formed or developed by the source word in same language. For example, the noun driver is derived, by addition of the suffix -er, from the verb to drive.

What is a synonym?

A synonym is a word or expression with a meaning that is the same as, or very similar to, another word or phrase. "Street" is for example a synonym of the word "road".

What is an antonym?

An antonym is two words with the opposite or nearly opposite meaning. "Big" is for example an anotnym of "small".

What is feminine?

Feminine, seen as {f} in dictionary, determine the gramatical feminine gender of nouns Examples: la casa, la mesa, la comida.

What is masculine?

Masculine, seen as {m} in dictionary, determine the gramatical masculine gender of nouns. Examples: el coche, el cielo, el bocadillo.

What is an anagram?

Anagrams are words or phrases created by the rearrangement of letters from other words or phrases. JK Rowling has used anagrams in her Harry Potter series, such as when "Tom Marvolo Riddle" was rearranged to spell "I am Lord Voldemort". As a simple example, "flea" is an anagram of "leaf".
